FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CEO to Speak at Entrepreneurship Panel and Conference at Spelman College

ATLANTA (March 1, 2007) - The Economic Empowerment Initiative, Inc. (EEI), in partnership with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, The Atlanta Press Club, and The Commerce Club, will host the 2007 Entrepreneurship Panel & Conference, on Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Spelman College's Cosby Auditorium. This event was established as a result of a bill passed by the House of Representatives last spring in support of National Entrepreneurship Week. National Entrepreneurship Week encourages the implementation of entrepreneurial programs in public and private sectors throughout the United States. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is a major sponsor of a week set to raise the nation's awareness about the impact of small businesses.

According to EEI's president and CEO, Samuel T. Jackson, the panel and conference is designed to "serve as an inspiration for young people to think creatively and to turn their ideas into action." In addition to highlighting EEI's efforts to increase financial literacy, discussion points will include how panelists started their business, challenges facing today's entrepreneur, and keys to successful entrepreneurship.

Panelists include Sharon Leon (Cold Stone Creamery.), Edward "Young Dirty" Long (The Good Life Radio), Kevin D. Johnson (CEO of Johnson Media Inc.), and Donnell Rawls (Auto Buyers). Christopher Cooper (CEO of Execute Your Passion) will moderate the panel.

Founded by Jackson in 2001, EEI is a not-for-profit organization geared to helping high school and college students understand how to manage their financial resources. The event is free of charge and open to all high school and college students.
