Johnson Media Inc. Co-produces Atlanta's 3rd Annual Power 30 Under 30 Awards, the Most Successful in its History
ATLANTA (May 11, 2007) - It was an evening of excitement and anticipation as more than 400 of Atlanta's youngest movers and shakers gathered at The Ballroom at TWELVE Atlantic Station for the unveiling of the 2007 listmakers during the 3rd Annual Atlanta's Power 30 Under 30 Awards.
Winners announced included Atlanta celebrities and lesser known young professionals including Usher Raymond, Entrepreneur and Entertainer, Melanee Farrah, Chief of Staff and Policy Advisor for Councilman H. Lamar Willis, Ryan Gembala and Garrett Gravesen, Co-founders of H.E.R.O. (Hearts Everywhere Reaching Out) for Children, Inc., a non-profit that improves the quality of life for children affected by HIV/AIDS, Josh Childress, Forward, Atlanta Hawks; Terry Comer, Harvard Business School graduate and general partner at a mid-market private equity firm; and Felipe Flores, a multilingual banking manager.

Johnson, Power 30 Under 30 Awards event chair and president of Johnson Media Inc. "The winners were selected not only because of their professional excellence but also for their dedication to the Atlanta community through service."
The event held on May 10 began as finalists and their guests received a VIP red-carpet welcome into The Ballroom lobby for the pre-event reception. Amidst a glitz and glamour atmosphere of media flashbulbs and cameras, finalists rubbed elbows with one another in a crowd that included fashion designer Mychael Knight, Atlanta Hawks Josh Childress, up and coming Atlanta singer Janelle Monáe, event emcee and Q100 radio host Bert Weiss.
During the awards ceremony cheers erupted from the audience as pre-recorded video presentations of interviewed award winners appeared on larger-than-life video screens draping the stage. Following each video montage, the names of five winners from each of the six designated categories were the announced by awards presenters which included Sheri Riley, president of GLUE, Inc., Tino Mantella, president of the Technology Association of Georgia and Jason Carter, author and grandson of former President Jimmy Carter.

Johnson Media Inc. was chosen last year by the Apex Society, an executive club based in New York City, as the lead marketing/communications partner and co-producer of the awards. In this role, Johnson Media Inc. was responsible for all media outreach and public relations for the event. Duties included securing sponsors, designing the web site, publishing the commemorative booklet, and producing the television show. In an impressive public relations campaign, the awards achieved over 6 million media impressions most of which came from a television deal negotiated with Comcast. President of Johnson Media Inc., Kevin D. Johnson, was also deemed this year's Event Chair.
